Russian oil giant Lukoil is once again on the hunt for fraudsters after warning customers and industry players that “unauthorised offers to purchase petroleum products” have been made in its name.

Lukoil said the fake offers have “the appearance of having been sent by or on behalf of non-executive and independent members of the board”, using the company’s name.

“The letters are fraudulent and the company is taking action to trade and stop such acts of fraud,” it said.
