Halliburton’s technical adviser for the cement, Jesse Gagliano, maintained that he warned BP
of a potentially severe gas flow
problem five days before the
20 April blowout and fire
that sunk Transocean’s semi-
submersible rig Deepwater
Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico.

Gagliano said he also recommended as a result of “channelling effects” from a computer model of the well that 21 centralisers be used in the well.
