It will offer at least four offshore blocks in the Morondava basin in a bidding round to be launched later this year, according to the new director general of hydrocarbons within the Presidency’s Strategic Resources Unit, Colonel Hajatiana Rasolomanana.
Although precise block designations remain undecided, acreage off the north-western coast in the Morondava deep will be the main focus.
A promotional event will be organised in the capital Antanananrivo on 23 to 25 September to showcase these and other undrilled acreage opportunities.
