A total of 74 non-essential personnel were evacuated to the nearby Beryl Alpha and Bravo platforms after Gryphon A lost heading at 0722 last Friday, when four of the 10 anchors broke.

A core crew of 43 are now on board. Shortly before Upstream went to press Maersk confirmed a tug had attached itself to the front of the vessel.

Maersk said it believed there could be significant damage to the vessel’s risers and bases but the subsea architecture is not damaged.
