A first full year of “strong” production from the Magnus oilfield in the UK northern North Sea helped offset the output issues EnQuest has been suffering at its Kraken development, writes Rob Watts.

EnQuest, which took over operatorship of Magnus from supermajor BP in December 2017, said the project’s performance was strong throughout 2018, with production efficiency above 80%.

This helped push 2018 group-wide production 48% higher to 55,447 barrels of oil equivalent per day from 37,405 boepd a year earlier, which was within guidance.
