Licences covering 10 blocks were awarded out of 29 on offer, generating signature bonuses of Croatian Kuna (Hkr) 100 million ($15.5 million), higher than the minimum total requirement of Hkr14 million.
The government’s evaluation committee, headed by Minister of Economy Ivan Vrdoljak, decided not to award licences for five other blocks that had attracted bids.
A consortium of Marathon and OMV was handed Block 8 off northern Croatia, blocks 10, 11, 22 and 23 off the central seaboard plus blocks 27 and 28 off the country’s south coast.
