Norway’s BW Offshore is looking at starting output at its recently acquired Maromba heavy oil field in the Campos basin off Brazil in 2022, writes Fabio Palmigiani.
BW is understood to be contemplating the re-deployment of the Berge Helene floating production, storage and offloading vessel at Maromba.
A well-informed source told Upstream that BW has yet to make a final selection on the FPSO that will be used in Maromba, but added the Berge Helene, which is presently laid up in Malaysia, is the most likely candidate.
