US independent Matador Resources has confirmed it was a major buyer in New Mexico's recent Permian basin lease sale, laying out more than $387 million to pick up 8400 gross acres in Lea and Eddy counties at an average of cost of $46,000 per acre, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
That bidding footprint matches the set of anonymous offers made by Federal Abstract, a New Mexican geology company, on behalf of an unidentified company or companies, in the federal Bureau of Land Management offering held last week.
