Engineering giant McDermott has landed a sizeable front-end engineering and design contract from state-owned Qatar Petroleum (QP) to provide topsides and other facilities for the North Field Expansion (NFE) project's offshore infrastructure, writes Nishant Ugal.
The award marks another public reminder from QP that it is proceeding at pace with its plan to expand Qatar's liquefied natural gas export capacity to 110 million tonnes per annum from today's 77 million tpa.
