US CONTRACTOR McDermott has started an offshore pipeline installation job at Brunei Shell Petroleum's shallow-water Ampa field, writes Russell Searancke.
The US company's derrick barge DB30 is on location off Brunei, and Brunei Shell Petroleum said McDermott will be doing pipeline trenching and an offshore pipelay from the Ampa field throughout May and June 2017.
Brunei Shell Petroleum added that the DB30 and supporting vessels will not be able to turn quickly enough to avoid other vessels during pipelay operations.
