The private Indonesian company plans to bring Tiaka on stream by early 2003.
The field will be exploited by six multilateral wells and production is expected to be around 8000 barrels per day.
Tiaka is located some 17 kilometres off Tolo Bay. Its development requires the reclamation of a small island where Medco will install production facilities and associated infrastructure, so environmental safety considerations are high.
