The 40-man panel comprising old-guard and newcomer politicians and academics was tasked with refining conclusions reached in earlier reports and was inaugurated by Vice President Goodluck Jonathan.
Jonathan was forced to cancel an attempt to hold a far grander summit in July after plans to co-opt as chairman career diplomat Ibrahim Gambari, who comes from the north of the country, stalled following concerted opposition to his role from southern activists.
