The acquisition is the largest single purchase in Merit's history. It includes about 500 wells, 36 central production facilities, two gas processing complexes and a natural gas liquids pipeline.
Merit won the assets in an auction held this month as part of the Anglo-Dutch super-major's $2 billion divestment strategy. The transaction is scheduled to close by the end of the year.
