Mexico is set to offer nine blocks in the northern Burgos basin targeting shale potential in its Round 3.3 that was launched via an official call for bids late last week, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
“With today’s announcement of Round 3.3, we will benefit in the short term with new jobs in Tamaulipas and we will take advantage of the oil wealth of our country’s subsurface,” Mexico Energy Secretary Pedro Joaquin Coldwell said during a presentation, flanked by Tamaulipas governor Francisco Cabeza de Vaca of the centre-right PAN party.
