The chief executive at Samson Resources has stepped in to lead Anadarko basin-focused Roan Resources after the surprise resignation of Roan chief executive Tony Maranto last week for 'personal reasons'.
Samson Resources chief executive Joseph Mills, who has served on the Roan board since November, was appointed to executive chairman on Monday.
He will serve on an interim basis until a new chief executive is found.
