The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (Egas) had a disappointing 2018 licensing round, awarding only three of its 13 offshore blocks to international oil companies.

However, it did manage to attract a significant newcomer in US supermajor ExxonMobil.

Egas fared better in the onshore Nile Delta, awarding two of the three blocks on offer and players have committed to drill 20 wells in all on the Egas blocks.
