Modec the world's second-largest FPSO provider had been favoured to land the contract to provide Singapore-based Pearl with the FPSO, which will be an upgrade of Modec's existing FPSO Buffalo Venture.
The Buffalo Venture had been stationed at Nexen's Buffalo field in the Timor Sea between December 1999 and field abandonment in December 2004.
Modec's regular builder in Singapore, Jurong Shipyard, will host the Buffalo Venture while it is modified for the Jasmine development.
