Tokyo-based Modec has moved into pole position to land a major order from Italy's Eni to provide a floating production, storage and offloading vessel for its Sankofa-Gye Nyame project off Ghana.
Industry sources said a contract is due to be placed within weeks and, while at least three contractors officially remain in the running for the award, the Japanese player is in a strong position.
