Japanese floater specialist Modec has successfully cleaned an oil spill in the Petrobras-operated Espadarte field off Brazil, a week after small cracks were identified in the hull of the Cidade do Rio de Janeiro floating production, storage and offloading vessel, writes Fabio Palmigiani.
No oil slick has been detected during flyovers carried out since 30 August, but Modec remains on standby to act in the event of any new incident.
