Japanese floater giant Modec is aiming for a vastly-improved top line performance in the remainder of the year as it also posted a first-quarter net profit.

The company booked revenues of 58.09 billion yen ($529.21 million) in the three months to the end of March, an improvement on the 46.7 billion yen taken a year earlier.

However, Modec is aiming for revenues of 350 billion yen for the full year, with operating profit estimated at 8 billion yen – which would be up from 250 million yen in the first quarter due to the completion of a charter in August.
