Severe weather led to production at Molikpaq being suspended and the Okha floating storage and offtake vessel that serves the platform being disengaged, according to the Gazprom-led company.
While preparing to reconnect the Okha, the company discovered that the single anchor leg mooring buoy––several hundred metres away from the platform and linking it with the vessel––had "suffered damage".
The damage to the buoy has resulted in "a small release of oil into sea", according to the company.
