Statoil and state carbon-capture agency Gassnova plan to sign a framework contract with one or more suppliers after completing a three-phase qualification programme open to all interested players.
The process will start with feasibility studies to see whether the technologies can be used at Mongstad. That will be followed by technology qualification including testing and emission control, and finally a concept phase with design studies for the full-scale facility.
