The majority of the WAG projects in Malaysia come under two multi-billion-dollar EOR production sharing contracts Petronas has signed with ExxonMobil and Shell in 2008 and 2012.

The Malaysian unit of Exxon­Mobil has pledged to spend $2.1 billion on EOR at Tapis, Seligi, Guntong, Semangkok, Irong Barat, Tabu and Palas off Peninsular Malaysia.

Shell’s EOR PSC announced in early 2012 is aimed at recovering 750 million barrels of oil reserves using WAG EOR in Baram Delta (BDO) and chemical EOR in North Sabah basin.
