Moro chief negotiator Mohaqher Iqbal has contacted Manila to explain the Muslim organisation’s position on hydrocarbon exploration in parts of the Sulu Sea and other areas as the Department of Energy (DoE) this week closes prequalification for the PECR 4 licensing round.
The Moro wants onshore and offshore oil and gas exploration in disputed areas put on hold pending resolution of ancestral domain claims that form part of ongoing peace process negotiations.
