Norway’s biggest offshore union Industri Energi (IE) has postponed a threatened boycott of Technip vessels working in Norwegian waters over the use of “underpaid” workers who do not benefit from local terms and conditions.

The decision follows a subpoena by the industry association Norog and the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO). “NHO has sued us. We are therefore delaying the implementation of the boycott of Technip Singapore PTE until we get a ruling from the Labour Court,” said IE’s Ommund Stokka.
