In June, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), one of China’s top two shipbuilding and offshore conglomerates, decided to merge six of its yards into three to consolidate the shipbuilding and rig-building sector.
Under CSIC’s masterplan, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) — the largest yard in northern China under the CISC umbrella — has taken over Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry in Qinhuangdao, in Hebei province.
