Mubadala Petroleum has taken initial steps towards potentially replacing the leased floating production, storage and offloading vessel on its Jasmine field in the Gulf of Thailand.

The Abu Dhabi-based operator is understood to have made market inquiries for a replacement FPSO to be available in late 2016.

The proposed charter period is between five and 10 years, said well-placed sources.

FPSO contractors with a track record of delivery in Thailand are said to have received an invitation to express their interest in the potential replacement floater.
