Mubadala Petroleum is evaluating its Malida oil discovery as a tieback development to its producing Manora oilfield on the G1/48 concession off Thailand as it also plans further drilling at additional nearby targets, writes Amanda Battersby.

The successful Malida-1 well, drilled in late 2013, is located around five kilometres northeast of Manora.

In tandem, United Arab Emirates-based Mubadala is preparing for a drilling campaign on the Gulf of Thailand block with a concerted focus on other targets that could be exploited as fast-track developments utilising the existing infrastructure at Manora.
