Output from ONGC’s Western offshore fields was reduced to about 300,000 barrels per day from the normal 320,000 bpd while the repairs were carried out.
The company claimed a contingency plan launched by the Indian coast guard has now been withdrawn because there are no longer any signs of the oil slick on the sea surface.
Oil and gas produced from the Mumbai High fields was diverted to the ICP-Heera Uran trunkline until the leak was repaired.
