MURPHY Oil has invited bids for a major subsea installation contract linked to the Rotan floating liquefied natural gas project off Sabah, Malaysia.

The company is also said to be close to finalising a subsea equipment agreement. The subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines package on offer from the US independent is understood to include two 10-inch flexible risers each about 12 kilometres long connecting the subsea wells at the Rotan field via a manifold to the under-construction FLNG vessel.
