Murphy Oil has more exploration work to do off Mexico but is also weighing up its midstream options for the future after reporting a discovery in its operated deep-water Area 5 on the Cholula prospect last month, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
The US independent is planning an appraisal well next year to further prove up that find off Mexico, as well as two more exploration wells on the block, country manager Gabriel Gomez told a panel at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston last week.
