The company signed a production sharing contract for onshore Block EP-1 for Myanma Oil & Gas Enterprise.

PetroleumBrunei was announced as the winner for 1135-square kilometre Block EP-1 in the Kyaukkyi-Mindon area last November, though the formal signing was only days ago.

EP-1 is located around 250 kilometres north of the commercial capital Yangon.

Initial exploration work on this block, which attracted other bids from Asian and European players, will include seismic surveying after the environmental impact assessment and social impact assessment have been carried out, according to Brunei Energy Minister Yasmin Umar.
