Inspectors from the Health & Safety Executive issued a prohibition notice against NAD following the incident in February.
The incident happened during operations to skid — or park in a safe place — the lower marine riser package.
The worker suffered minor injuries but it is understood the incident had the potential to cause more serious injuries.
HSE said the company had failed to provide a safe system of work for the operation of the lower marine riser package handling skidding.
