Namibia’s pre-salt potential is believed to lie in the country’s Namibe basin in the north, an area believed to have once lain adjacent to the Santos b asin off Brazil.
Brazilian independent HRT Oil & Gas aims to start a four-well wildcatting programme across its 10 blocks late this year, although only one probe will test pre-salt potential in carbonates. It is currently unclear which prospect will be targeted.
