ExxonMobil is in the process of farming into Galp Energia-held acreage in the Walvis basin off Namibia.

The move confirms an earlier Upstream report and, assuming the deal is concluded, would mark the US supermajor’s debut in the southern African country.

Galp said it is in the process of farming down a 40% participating interest in the Petroleum Exploration License (PEL) 82 — covering blocks 2112B and 2212A — to ExxonMobil.
