UK gas and electricity utility National Grid is considering replacing its site at the Bacton Gas Terminal in Norfolk with a new facility to ensure capacity fits with anticipated changes in the country's gas supply and demand over the coming decades.

National Grid has been working up a number of conceptual designs for what the 50-year-old Bacton site, which typically delivers up to a third of the UK’s gas requirements, could look like in future, delegates to a UK southern North Sea supply chain event heard this week.
