PROSPECTS for early gas deliveries from the West Natuna project off Indonesia to Singapore are looking increasingly tenuous as further problems have been detected on the newly installed export trunkline. The latest word from contractor sources is that as many as six welds are still leaking following initial repair work on the 469-kilometre line. A vessel was due to sail from Singapore this week carrying divers to perform the hyperbaric welding believed necessary to remedy the problem.
