Indonesia will not entertain a sole Chinese partner to team up with state-owned Pertamina for the further appraisal and hoped-for future exploitation of the giant East Natuna gas field, not least because of possible security concerns, writes Amanda Battersby.
“We have told Pertamina that if they want to bring in partners that this has to be approved by the government,” said Indonesia’s Minister for Energy & Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan.
