The government earlier said that gas supply to the world's second largest economy will rise to 420 Bcm by 2020.
In the latest planning released by the National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC) on 16 May, the government sees huge potential in an increase in gas throughput converted from coal, but said the sector should be developed while considering water supply security and under most strict environment protection standards.
