NOBLE Energy’s stalled multi-billion dollar Leviathan gas project off Israel is set for a revival amid signs that political issues that have held back its progress may soon be resolved.

Industry sources said the US independent has quietly re-started talks with some contractors ahead of a possible decision this summer to formally re-launch the 22 trillion cubic foot gas project.

An observer said the government could finalise as soon as next month wide-ranging gas regulations that aim to address the dominant position of Noble, and its local partner Delek Group, in Israel’s gas sector and also offer clarity on export issues and gas prices.
