It means the European Union member — and any others that miss the 19 July cut-off — could be at risk of legal action from the European Commission.
The Offshore Safety Directive 2013/30/EU, designed to harmonise safety rules in the North Sea, Mediterranean and Black Sea, came into force on 18 July 2013, with member states given two years to include it in their national legislation.
