The Brazilian federal police made new arrests this week in the anti-corruption investigation known as Operation Car Wash, detaining, among others, a senior banker active in business with Petrobras, a cattle rancher with close ties to former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and a senator of the ruling Workers’ Party (PT).
On Wednesday morning police arrested Brazilian billionaire banker Andre Esteves, the high-profile chief executive of BTG Pactual bank, at his family house in Rio de Janeiro.
