Italy’s Eni has made an onshore light oil discovery in Egypt’s Western Desert as it sets its sights on a new offshore exploration drive in the Mediterranean Sea, writes Nassir Shirkhani.
The discovery, which hit 35 metres of net light oil pay, was made at the SWM B1-X exploration prospect on the South West Meleiha licence, 130 kilometres north of the oasis town of Siwa near the Libyan border.
