Sevmorneftegaz already holds development licences for the Shtokman gas field and Prirazlomnoye oilfield in the Barents Sea.
However, as part of the shift, Gazprom is set to pass licences for offshore blocks and fields in the Pechora Sea, near the Yamal Peninsula and Sakhalin Island, to Gazpromdobychashelf, apparently to improve project management, according to reports.
Aleksandr Mandel, who is now the director of both Sevmorneftegaz and Gazpromdobychashelf, said the main objective of the company is to speed up the problem-ridden project to develop the Prirazlomnoye field in the Pechora Sea in northern Russia.
