The current operating company and the agents responsible for different activities will be merged into one new company, spokesman Hans Wenck said.
The new venture will be responsible for all drilling, development and production, in contrast with the existing arrangement splitting responsibilities among the various partners.
The seven shareholders in the Kashagan development will continue to support the activities of the new company, which will gradually take over during the course of this year, Wenck said.
