UK marine geophysical group WGP has been contracted for the $5.4 million job of equipping the vessel and managing the seismic acquisition programme on behalf of ­Surestream.

Farther south in the Tan­zanian waters of Lake Tanganyika, ASX-listed Beach Energy subsidiary Beach Petroleum and London-registered Tullow Oil have also entered talks with Surestream to engage the vessel for additional seismic on blocks B and A respectively ─ though Dar es Salaam’s Ministry of Energy & Minerals has yet to ratify Tullow’s licence.
