The company’s Chinese division Newfield China has sent tender invitations to five offshore contractors — French giant Technip, Singapore’s Swiber, Dutch outfit Dockwise, McDermott of the US and China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC). Italian contractor Saipem declined the opportunity to participate.
The tender, which seeks the submission of bids before or on 2 December, is expected to include a technical proposal that provides for an assessment of the first float-over attempts on 10 August, proposed modifications of the topsides, as well as a conceptual design of the proposed installation solution.
