While tying back the wells to Hess's adjacent Pony field - which will be developed by a tension-leg platform - is still in the frame, other schemes have not been ruled out, according to a company source.
The source said Nexen was“very open”to other host possibilities for Knotty Head and said that even an early production system has been considered.
The decision may ultimately be swayed by results from the next appraisal well planned for the discovery later this year.
