The state company is also looking for financing on a similar basis for 10 gas pressure booster stations for a second trunkline, IGAT-8, to Qom, south of Tehran.

IGAT-11 will run 1200 kilometres to the north-east from Bandar Assaluyeh, the onshore processing site for South Pars gas.

Basic engineering for the 56-inch trunkline was completed about two years ago and, along with IGAT-9 and IGAT-6, the project has funding authorisation from the Oil Ministry as part of a $12 billion package.
