Nigeria's oil production averaged 2 million barrels per day last year and is currently around 2.1 million bpd, according to Petroleum Resources Minister Ibe Kachikwu, who is adamant this figure might quadruple if all stakeholders work together.
Kachikwu, a former ExxonMobil country manager, told a recent oil and gas fair in Yenagoa, the restive creekside capital of Bayelsa State, that Nigeria should be producing 7 million bpd to meet domestic industry needs and satisfy demand for power generation.
